Creating a Library for All Ages and Needs

The reimagined Midland Library is a dynamic, inclusive community destination that balances the needs of all age groups—children, teens, adults, and lifelong learners. PacificWRO was proud to provide furnishings that complement the architectural vision while enhancing usability, comfort, and creativity across a wide array of space types.

Furniture-Driven Space Highlights

Collaborative + Quiet Study Zones

Comfortable lounge seating and modular, tech-integrated tables create flexible areas for studying and focus. Upholstered armchairs and clean-lined lounge sofas invite relaxed reading, while shared tables foster quiet collaboration under glowing globe pendants.

Children’s Discovery Area

Custom, nature-themed furniture by Burgeon Group engages young readers through interactive learning elements. Soft, playful seating and book bins are arranged for safety, fun, and easy access, creating a space where imagination takes the lead.

Teen Space

A vibrant, youth-focused zone combines lounge seating, bean bags, and tiered platforms for casual collaboration or study. Curved booths and individual stations support group work and solo tasks, while unique lighting and bold colors energize the space.

Makerspace + Creative Zones

Midland’s revitalized makerspace features practical tables, durable seating, and writable surfaces that support STEAM programming and hands-on exploration. The furniture encourages both structured activities and open-ended experimentation.

Community Gathering & Reading Lounges

Strategic zones across the library offer inviting lounge groupings with durable yet cozy seating, occasional tables, and benches. Each layout supports casual conversation, reading, or relaxing in beautifully lit, window-lined environments.
